There seems to be no limit to the internet’s fascination with bizarre food combinations. From pizza paired with ice cream to mango maggi and chocolate dosa, we’ve seen it all. Or at least, we thought we had, until gulab jamun with curd came along. Yes, you heard right! The unique combination has captured attention, evoking a range of emotions and attracting significant attention. While you may have delighted in the popular combination of rabri jalebi or enjoyed the classic combination of gulab jamun with rabri, this strange new combination has left the online community stumped.

In a video posted to Instagram, a vendor is seen serving delicious gulab jamun along with a generous dollop of curd. With a touch of pride, the vendor proclaims it the most famous second course in his shop. Priced at Rs. 50 for a plate containing a gulab jamun and curd, the offbeat combo has aroused curiosity and discussion, garnering more than eight lakh views on the post. The caption poses a thought-provoking question: “Would you dare to try this combination?”

The comments section was filled with a diverse range of emotions from people, reflecting their mixed reactions to the combination.

One user claimed that it was the most common dish in the North East: “This is a very common dessert in North East and West Bengal. People used to serve it at marriage or any other occasion.”

While others could not digest the odd combo. Giving the reasons why it was a completely wrong combination, one user wrote: “This is a completely wrong combination. Fried and sweet k sath probiotic too (Fried and sweet with probiotics too). Absolutely wrong.

“Hum gulab jamun lovers walon ko ghayal kar diya, ghayal kya inhone katal kar diya (They have hurt gulab jamun lovers; so deeply it feels like we have been killed),” said another.

Another Instagram user claimed that the food industry is destroyed. He wrote: “The street food industry has been destroyed by food bloggers and thanks to them these restaurant owners are creating new food combinations to become popular.”
