Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s latest overseas visit featured instances that exemplified the “enormous respect and goodwill” between world leaders towards him and India, the BJP said on Wednesday, calling on opposition parties to celebrate the progress of the country.

BJP leader and Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar said the prime minister attended three major world events (G7, QUAD and FIPIC) during his five-day trip to Japan, Papua New Guinea and Australia.

“This trip was peppered with instances that exemplify the enormous respect and goodwill for India and the Indian Prime Minister among major nations and world leaders,” he told a press conference here. Opposition parties should celebrate the country’s progress and become part of the efforts. that are being taken to carry it forward, instead of taking every opportunity “to insult our growth, create obstacles and make attempts to reverse our prime minister’s mission and his goal of creating a developed India,” he said.

“During his overseas visit, the prime minister had 40 engagements and met with more than two dozen world leaders,” he said. The Union minister also referred to the governments of Fiji and Papua New Guinea giving their highest civilian award to Modi, saying it was an honor some world leaders have received so far.

The renaming of Sydney’s Harris Park to Little India was another honor bestowed on India during its overseas visit, Chandrasekhar noted. “During his visit to these countries, the front pages of most newspapers and other media were covered with stories about his visit and the summits around it,” he stated.

The BJP leader said people around the world are recognizing PM Modi’s leadership, but opposition have raised questions about the country’s handling of the economy during the covid pandemic and “created fear over Indian vaccines.” , lobbied for foreign vaccines and opposed it.” helping other countries our vaccines”.

“Having heard how he spoke at the global diaspora gathering in Australia about India, its rise from the fifth to the top three economies in the world and its future, I want to draw your attention to the shameless habit of our opposition politicians like Rahul Gandhi. . and their minions who use abuse and lies to insult not only our prime minister and our government, but also our nation, democracy and institutions, including the press and the judiciary,” Chadrasekhar said. They have traveled abroad to “vilify our democracy, our nation and our people,” he said in a veiled attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

Referring to opposition parties’ complaints about electronic voting machines, he said there is “a studied silence about all such complaints” after the Karnataka elections.

The Congress emerged victorious in the polls in the 224-member Karnataka assembly held on May 10 by winning 135 seats. The BJP got 65 and the JD(S) 19 seats.

Chadrasekhar said that as a world leader who was “born poor, Prime Minister Modi is an inspiration and a leader to those nations and peoples of the world who continue to struggle.”

“It is undeniable that Prime Minister Modi’s leadership and his diplomatic efforts have played a very important role in the progress of our country,” he said. Opposition parties should celebrate India’s progress and be part of the ongoing efforts to move India forward, the BJP leader said.

In the world where nations compete for recognition and respect, it is important to project an accurate and positive image of India’s progress, he added.

“Imagine the significance of Papua New Guinea’s prime minister touching Modi’s feet in respect… Imagine the significance of Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese calling PM Modi boss…,” Chandrasekhar said.

“The goodwill and respect shown by New Zealand Prime Minister Chris Hipkins when he flew to Australia to meet Prime Minister Modi,” he said. These are rare events that are the result of Prime Minister Modi’s hard work, dedication and commitment. said the union minister.
