Patna Airport: Passengers create chaos after SpiceJet flight was delayed

Agitated passengers created an uproar at Patna airport after a SpiceJet flight was delayed, officials here said on Friday.
The passengers, who were scheduled to fly to Delhi on Thursday, waited overnight and the flight finally became available early Friday morning.
Patna-bound SG 471 from New Delhi was diverted to Varanasi airport on Thursday night. The airline company claimed that the flight was unable to land at the Patna airport due to bad weather. Hence, diverted to Varanasi. The same flight was to return from Patna to Delhi.

The flight was scheduled to leave Patna airport at 4:30 pm on Thursday. The airline informed the passengers that the flight was delayed four hours and that it will depart at 8:30 p.m. Consequently, the passengers arrived at the Patna airport at 1830, but the flight did not arrive. The airlines finally informed the passengers at 22:15 that the flight would not arrive in Patna at night and therefore would be available on Friday morning.
Following the development, passengers present at the airport created a ruckus at the SpiceJet counter. Some returned home, but most stayed at the airport overnight.
The passengers claimed that the weather in Patna was clean, but the airline diverted flight SG 471 to Varanasi.
