NEW DELHI: Nepal is likely to make an official announcement on Saturday regarding Prime Minister PK Dahal Prachanda’s visit to India from May 31. This will be his first visit abroad since he took office as prime minister last year.
Prachanda was quoted as saying earlier this week that he believed a new story would be created with his visit to India. “This time, I think, Nepal will achieve something new with the visit. Relations between Nepal and India will reach a new level,” she said in an interview.
Nepalese Foreign Ministry sources in Kathmandu said the visit will take place from May 31 to June 3 and the ministry will make a formal announcement on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Nepalese Ambassador to India Shankar Prasad Sharma called the Foreign Minister S Jaishankar in New Delhi this week and discussed Prachanda’s upcoming visit.
