New Delhi:
A 32-year-old woman who was abducted 17 years ago in 2006 has been found in Delhi’s Gokalpuri, police said on Thursday.
According to DCP Shahdara Rohit Meena, “On May 22, a team from Seemapuri Police Station with secret information tracked down the kidnapped 32-year-old (now) girl who was kidnapped 17 years ago.”
Consequently, a case registered under section 363 IPC, was registered in 2006 at the Gokulpuri Police Station, Delhi, on the complaint of his parents, they added.
“The girl was kidnapped in 2006 and during the investigation, the girl revealed that after leaving her home she was living with a person named Deepak in Cherdih District Baliya village, UP and then she locked Deepak up after a dispute and started living in Gokalpuri in rented accommodation,” police said.
According to DCP Shahdara Rohit Meena, 116 abducted/kidnapped children/persons and 301 missing persons were recovered by Shahdara district till date in 2023.
