Former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Thursday that the statements about the “arbitrary” change of laws by the previous BJP government after coming to power speak of “arrogance”.

He was reacting to Minister Priyank Kharge’s statement that the orders and legislations implemented under the former BJP regime, such as the revision of school textbooks and the anti-conversion and anti-cow slaughter laws, which go against the state interests, would be revised or withdrawn by the new Congress. government, after reviewing them.
“A new government has arrived, it is known that they are going to carry out an appeasement policy, they have power, let’s see what they are going to do. But if any injustice happens to the people, we will fight both legally and politically,” Bommai said. “So soon after coming to power, if a government wants to review everything, according to me, it’s not only going backwards, but also an act of revenge,” he added. Responding to an incident of the alleged attack on a BJP worker after the Congress government came to power, Bommai said, a case has been registered in this regard and officials have been suspended. “Whoever it is, action must be taken in accordance with the law,” she added.
