Old and new iPhones running on the new version of iOS facing the issue
The new version is publicly available, but both old and new iPhone users who install iOS 16.5 are facing the issue.
Apple recently released the new version of iOS 16.5 for iPhone users, and most of the people who installed the new version have seen their battery drain faster than usual. In general, you expect a public release to be completely bug free and free of issues of any kind.
But in this case, the iOS 16.5 update has brought more complaints from users who are not getting the most out of their iPhone’s battery. Many people who use affected iPhones have shared their concerns on Apple’s community forums this week, discussing poor battery life on both old and new iPhone models running iOS 16.5.
People have mentioned that a 1 hour FaceTime call has resulted in massive battery drain where the meter goes from 100 percent to 18 percent. It is likely that the developers at Apple have missed some major software issue that is causing this problem.
Apple seems to have noticed the problem and claims that the iOS 16.6 beta will offer the fix for battery drain. However, most iPhone users don’t want to install a beta version because it has other issues and instability in performance, so it would be better if Apple released a public fix for the battery drain issue right away.
And while Apple tried to fix this problem, the company is already working on the next version of iOS 17 which we will know more about next month at the WWDC 2023 keynote.
The new version is expected to bring a number of new features, including more optimized use cases for your iPhone’s always-on display and more customization options. Since the upcoming iPhone 15 is likely to come with USB C for charging, the software could get an improved performance boost for data transfer and charging.
