Zelda Tears of the Kingdom (TOTK) came out 6 years after BOTW, so the developers took their time creating it and there’s a lot to figure out not only in its ending but in its overall story. Whereas Breath of the Wild had you take on Calamity Ganon and restore the Divine Beasts by the help of him. The story of this game takes a turn in a completely different direction. And this is not for the worse, in fact, the story and ending are some of the best in Zelda games of all time. So here is the endgame explained and what happens to Zelda.

One of the most important scenes in the game is when Link places the damaged Master Sword in a golden light and sends it to Zelda. In fact, he sends Zelda’s sword back in time.. After you defeat him, he realizes that there is no way for him to defeat Link, so Ganondorf becomes the Demon Dragon to defeat Link and destroy Hyrule. And that’s where the Light Dragon comes in to help Link fight the Demon Dragon and destroy his Secret Stone.

Yes, after defeating the Demon Dragon Link, the arm starts to glow. We see Link being teleported to another dimension where he and the Dragon of Light are floating. Rauru and Sonia then join him and cast a larger glow from their hand onto the Dragon of Light. Once they are done, Light Dragon returns to Zelda. And Link’s arm is also healed.

They are then returned to the skies of Hyrule where both Link and Zelda begin to fall. Link then catches her in the air and dives into the water to save them both.

From the story we’ve seen so far we know that Zelda had gone back in time. Therefore, it’s safe to conclude that in order to return to the present, she ate the sacred stone from her and ended up turning into a Dragon in the process. This helps explain how she was able to repair the Master Sword.

Deku Tree Explains How Master Sword Gets Stronger

When you heal the Deku tree by getting rid of Phantom Ganondorf, we get an interesting scene about their interaction. In it we learn that the Master Sword can heal itself. But he also adds that he can do more than heal himself. He explains how the sword becomes stronger the more it is “bathed in holy power”.

Zelda then decides to embed the sword into her forehead to not only heal the sword but also make it stronger.

You must complete all the main story missions to get the true ending of the game. which gives you another scene. In it we see Zelda, Link, Tulin, Riju, Sidon, Yunobo and Mineru in the temple of time. They say goodbye to Mineru and swear to protect Zelda and all of Hyrule.
