Claiming that Congress was pursuing a “policy of revenge”, he said that those who ever tried to ban RSS were sent home.
BJP senior leader Basavaraj Bommai challenged the Congress government in Karnataka on Friday to impose a ban on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and Bajrang Dal.
Claiming that Congress was pursuing a “policy of revenge”, he said that those who ever tried to ban RSS were sent home.
Bommai was reacting to Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge’s alleged statement that the government will not hesitate to ban RSS and Bajrang Dal if they disturb the peace in the state.
Putting aside all its promises, Congress has begun to pursue the politics of revenge. It seems that the politics of revenge is more on the agenda than the development of the state, the former CM told reporters here.
“They are talking about banning RSS and Bajrang Dal. Who are they telling this to? Please try it. I am challenging you. They have no power to ban any organization. It is the prerogative of the Center, which does so after seeking the opinion of all states,” Bommai said.
On the one hand, the ministers of Congress were making such statements to please a part of their voters, while on the other, they were trying to threaten those who believed in this ideology, he alleged.
Bommai accused Congress of “misleading” those it was trying to appease and said it does not have the power to do so.
“I request Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to clearly explain his intention regarding the ban on RSS or Bajrang Dal. Will he support his cabinet colleagues or disagree with them? He must tell the people of the state clearly,” he said.
According to BJP MLA, RSS is an organization that built the nation. It has made its policies and principles public and has prepared youth for it for the last 75 years.
“No one can ban RSS. All those attempts in the past failed. Those who dared to ban it were sent home,” he stated.
