Before the premiere of The Boogeyman; Here’s a quick look at some of the best horror movies released in recent months.

The release date for Rob Savage’s horror director The Boogeyman is drawing near. The film, which is an adaptation of Stephen King’s 1978 short story, chronicles the lives of two sisters who are reeling from the death of their mother. Developing a strained relationship with their father, the sisters inadvertently invite a hideous entity into their home.

“What Happens to Your Kids When You’re Not Paying Attention,” as described in the trailer, takes advantage of people’s suffering when the lights are out. The Boogeyman, starring Sophie Thatcher, Chris Messina and Viviena Lyra Blair in the lead roles, hits the big screens on June 2.

Actor Russell Crowe plays the real-life role of Father Gabriele Amorth, a famous Vatican priest known for performing tens and thousands of exorcisms in the horror film The Pope’s Exorcist. A meeting between two estranged sisters becomes a playground for demonic possessions in the fifth installment of the Evil Dead film series. Directed by Lee Cronin, stars Lily Sullivan and Alyssa Sutherland take the lead in this gory tale that includes gallons of blood. The plot tells how the two estranged sisters give rise to demons possessing flesh and are forced to fight a horrific battle for survival.

Ghostface survivors of 2022 released Scream, leave Woodsboro for a fresh start in the sixth installment of this slasher film series. Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the film features a cast consisting of Courteney Cox, Melissa Barrera, and Jenna Ortega, among others, who reprise their roles from previous installments along with the addition of some new faces. The four survivors put their bloody past behind them until a new killer emerges with some stabbing to do.

M3Gan

Directed by Gerard Johnstone, M3Gan tells a terrifying tale of a killer robotic doll like no other. The film follows the story of an artificial doll that appears real and ends up developing self-awareness. But things start to go awry when M3Gan becomes hostile towards anyone who decides to get close to his human partner. The film stars Allison Williams, Violet McGraw, and Amie Donald in the lead roles.

The offer

Set in a Jewish funeral home, director Oliver Park’s Offering is inspired by the folktale of Abyzou. Starring Nick Blood, Emily Wiseman, Allan Corduner and Paul Kaye, the story revolves around the life of a son who returns home to his pregnant wife to reconcile with his father. Unbeknownst to them, lurking in the shadows is a mysterious ancient corpse and a sinister plan for his unborn child.
