Brihaspati Puja: Learn about the rituals and secret behind the worship of the banana tree on Thursday

According to the scriptures, Guru Brihaspati likes yellow flowers. On Thursdays, you should offer yellow flowers to Bihaspati.
The planet Jupiter, also known as Brihaspati or Guru among the Navgraha (nine planets) according to Hindu mythology, is considered as ‘Dev Guru’ or the ‘Master of the gods’. According to the Rig Veda, he is the one who teaches the gods and removes darkness.
Jupiter is often thought to help regulate the sun, moon, and stars, as well as the movement of other planets. According to astrology, planet Jupiter or Brihaspati graha is mostly believed to bring good results and bestows prosperity, knowledge and prestige in life.
Often considered and portrayed as cheerful, cheerful, and a giver of good health, Brihaspati Dev is mostly depicted in yellow or gold, holding a stick, lotus flower, and beads. According to Jyotishacharya Vinod Soni Poddar from Bhopal, many devotees also fast on Thursdays and should bathe in Brahma Muhurta and pray to Brihaspati Dev. Here are the customs and rituals to worship Brihaspati Dev.
Wearing Yellow Flowers: According to the scriptures, Brihaspati Dev likes yellow flowers. On Thursdays after offering Akshat and tilak you should offer yellow flowers to God.
Banana Worship: Brihaspati Dev is also pleased when banana is worshiped on Thursdays. He showers his blessings on those who offer water to the banana tree, place Akshat and Roli on it, and adorn it with incense sticks and earthen lamps on Thursdays.
Wear Yellow Clothes – Devotees are advised to wake up on Brahma Muhurta on Thursdays and bathe with a pinch of turmeric in the water. They should apply a saffron or turmeric tilak on the forehead after that.
Prepare Yellow Dishes – Since Brihaspati Dev loves yellow color that is why it is recommended to have yellow colored dishes as well. Prasad can also include jaggery and gram dal.
If you fast on Thursdays, you must strictly adhere to these guidelines if you wish to please Brihaspati Dev.
